Callihan is the personification of hard work and determination. He arrived in Nashville on a whim with nothing but his truck and a dream of becoming a country artist. The moment he arrived, he scoured the papers and found a job installing hardwood floors. Callihan did what was necessary to get by, even if it meant couch surfing and living in a friend’s shed for a while.
You have to do what you’ve gotta do. If you want it bad enough, you’ll do whatever it takes.

Eventually, his hard work paid off. He earned a publishing deal and began to put things in motion for his career. Since then, he wrote songs that have been recorded and performed by artists like Cole Swindell, Dylan Scott, Trent Tomlinson, Halfway To Hazard, David Lee Murphy, Josh Thompson, Mo Pitney, and many others.
Although writing songs for others is a great way to network and earn a living, his passion has always been in developing his artist side.
Callihan’s Debut Album
He expressed excitement with this album, because it gave him the ability to release some songs he’s been holding onto for years. The album is filled with songs that will get stuck in your head, tug at your heartstrings, and make you feel reminiscent about the “old days.”
Callihan’s album has several songs that talk about how country life has shaped him. “I See Ghosts” is about what he’s observed of the changing towns across America. Once close-knit and full of mom-and-pop shops, many cities are growing to the point where the feeling of the past is long gone and the town has moved onto chain restaurants and a bustling atmosphere.
In “Hometown Boys,” he writes about the people he grew up with, the slower pace of his small town, and the memories he made there with friends and family.
Overall, the album is worth a listen and you can pre-save it until its release on November 27.
