Inspiration at a Young Age
Pennsylvania-native Victoria Rose was a huge country music fan growing up. Artists like Dolly Parton, Taylor Swift, Carrie Underwood, and the Zac Brown Band inspired her at a young age. The now sixteen-year-old drew inspiration from these empowering artists and dreamt one day that she would make as large of an impact on people’s lives as they did hers. She notes that all of them have helped her work on her vibrato throughout the years as well.
Victoria explains “I really love Carrie Underwood because she belts out her strong songs, and that is exactly what I try to do in my music.”
Aside from her amazing vibrato, Victoria also possesses a fantastic songwriting ability. She thanks Taylor Swift, one of her all-time favorite influencers, for this.
Victoria states that Taylor Swift, “…creates great stories in her songs. Sometimes I will be writing one of mine and I’ll be like, ‘How does she describe this or how does she describe that?’ So being able to do that really helps me when I am struggling to write my own music.”
But before Victoria was writing her own music, she was learning how to play musical instruments. Instead of playing with LEGOs like many other six-year-old children, the country music artist was busy learning how to play the piano at that age. In addition, she learned how to play the guitar and ukulele at the age of nine. More recently, Victoria and her family moved to Orlando, Florida. There, the artist signed with DME Orlando’s Artist Development Program while still attending high school.
Recent Performances and New Single ‘Caught Between’
While Florida’s communities open back up thanks to the increase in vaccination accessibility, Victoria has wasted no time blessing people with her insanely pure vocals in-person.
“I had two performances last week that I did in front of drive-in parking lot audiences,” she explains.
And some of the music Victoria has been performing in Florida comes from her most recent sound, including her latest single ‘Caught Between’, which was released on March.
“My team at DME Orlando wrote the song and played the demo for me. I instantly loved it, because I felt like I related to it. In terms of lyrics, I know that it can be really hard for people my age to figure out where they fit in. Sometimes I ask myself, ‘Am I mature enough to associate myself with adults, or am I still a girl?’ And I believe that I am really [Caught Between] having independence and needing permission from my parents in situations,” she explains.
With ‘Caught Between’ out now, Victoria and her development program have also decided to release a single every eight weeks.
Victoria explains that she “has eleven songs already written and produced that are unreleased.” The artist further goes on to say that about half of the unreleased songs “…will be part of a 5-song EP that will release later this summer.” However, the EP has yet to be confirmed and is still ‘in the works’. Nevertheless, Victoria plans to bless her fans with great music in the near future.
