Garth Brooks Faces Sexual Assault Allegations from Former Employee
Country music legend Garth Brooks has been accused of sexual assault and battery in a lawsuit filed by a former makeup artist and hairstylist. The plaintiff, identified as “Jane Roe,” claims she experienced unwanted sexual advances and assault while working for the award-winning singer. The lawsuit, filed in a California state court, outlines disturbing allegations dating back to 2019, including an instance where Roe claims Brooks raped her during a work trip.
Allegations of Sexual Misconduct
According to the complaint, Roe began working for Brooks and his wife, country singer Trisha Yearwood, in 1999 and continued to provide hair and makeup services for Brooks beginning in 2017. The suit describes a pattern of inappropriate sexual behavior by Brooks, culminating in a 2019 incident in which Roe alleges she was sexually assaulted.
Roe claims that while working at Brooks’ home in 2019, the country singer walked out of the shower naked, grabbed her hands, and forced them onto his genitals while speaking in sexually explicit terms. Roe also alleges that the inappropriate behavior escalated during a work trip to Los Angeles in May 2019. During this trip, where Brooks was taping a Grammy tribute performance, Roe claims Brooks booked a hotel suite with only one bedroom. She recalls feeling “trapped” when Brooks allegedly appeared naked in the doorway and later raped her in the hotel room.
Previous Denials by Garth Brooks
Prior to Roe’s filing, Brooks had denied the allegations, having previously filed a complaint as “John Doe” to block the accusations from becoming public. Representatives for Brooks have not responded to the latest lawsuit or the accusations.
Roe’s complaint also states that following the alleged assault, Brooks continued to share his sexual fantasies and physically groped her. The suit further claims that Brooks frequently made remarks about his desire to have a threesome with his wife, Trisha Yearwood.
Legal Battle Ahead
The lawsuit paints a troubling picture of the experiences Roe claims to have endured while working for Brooks, and the legal process will now determine how these allegations unfold. Brooks’ legal team has yet to make an official statement in response to the lawsuit, and it remains to be seen how this will impact the country singer’s public image and career.

According to Music Row Magazine, Brooks has responded to the allegations, stating, “For the last two months, I have been hassled to no end with threats, lies and tragic tales of what my future would be if I did not write a check for many millions of dollars. It has been like having a loaded gun waved in my face.
“Hush money, no matter how much or how little, is still hush money. In my mind, that means I am admitting to behavior I am incapable of—ugly acts no human should ever do to another.
“We filed suit against this person nearly a month ago to speak out against extortion and defamation of character. We filed it anonymously for the sake of families on both sides.
“I want to play music tonight,” he says in reference to his Las Vegas residency show at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace. “I want to continue our good deeds going forward. It breaks my heart these wonderful things are in question now. I trust the system, I do not fear the truth, and I am not the man they have painted me to be.”
