On November 13, the Randy Rogers Band brought their signature country sound to the historic Cheatham Street Warehouse in San Marcos, TX, for a special benefit concert. The event celebrated the rich legacy of Texas music while supporting two meaningful scholarship programs: The Kent Finlay Legacy Endowed Scholarship in Texas Music History and the Tommy Foote Memorial Scholarship Fund.
This star-studded evening featured performances by country music’s brightest stars, including Jon Pardi, William Beckmann, Tucker Wetmore, Priscilla Block, and Austin Snell. Thanks to the funds raised during Cheatham Street Warehouse’s 50th Anniversary Street Party on October 20, 2024, $37,500 was donated to each scholarship, for a total of $75,000.
Supporting the Legacy of Texas Music
The Kent Finlay Legacy Endowed Scholarship in Texas Music History was created in 2018 by Darcy and Rick Hardy, Randy Rogers, the Randy Rogers Band, and Cheatham Street Partners, LLC. The scholarship aims to enhance music history education at Texas State University, honoring the legacy of Kent Finlay, the late founder of Cheatham Street Warehouse.
Similarly, the Tommy Foote Memorial Scholarship supports Texas State University students in the College of Liberal Arts who are committed to preserving and studying Texas music heritage. Both scholarships ensure that future generations can continue to celebrate and document the rich traditions of Texas music.
