Stephen Wilson Jr. Releases Søn of Dad (Deluxe) with New Tracks and Acoustic Favorites

Stephen Wilson Jr. has released Søn of Dad (Deluxe), the enhanced version of his debut double album, through Big Loud Records. This edition introduces two new tracks from his viral Live at the Print Shop session: the heartfelt “I’m A Song,” dedicated to his late father, and a soulful reinterpretation of Ben E. King’s classic “Stand By Me.” Fans can also enjoy acoustic renditions of ten beloved tracks, including “Cuckoo,” “Year to Be Young 1994,” “Father’s Søn,” and “Grief is Only Love.”

The deluxe release coincides with the album’s remarkable run on the iTunes Country Album Chart, where it has remained in the Top 10 for seven consecutive weeks, including multiple stints at No. 1.

Wilson Jr. Reflects on the Inspiration Behind Søn of Dad (Deluxe)

On his newly released track “I’m A Song,” Wilson Jr. shared, “A song can be a bookmark in a 10-million-page book that takes you back to a precise moment. My father’s favorite song taught me the power of storytelling and gave meaning to the path I’ve chosen. My father was a song, and it demands to be sung.”

Speaking about the deluxe album, Wilson Jr. explained, “These songs have evolved as we’ve played them around the world. Performing them stripped-down and in full-band settings revealed new dimensions. This deluxe version is the culmination of those discoveries.”
