“Music truly is the gift that keeps on giving,” says Nancy Jones. “Even after all these years, we’re still able to bring new George Jones music to his fans. Restoring a Piece of Country Music History
Originally recorded in the 1970s for radio station promotion, these recordings were never intended for commercial release. They were often captured in just one or two takes, featuring announcer voiceovers between songs. Many of these tapes were discarded or lost over time. Fortunately, Country Rewind Records President and Executive Producer Thomas Gramuglia discovered the original master tapes and set out to restore them for today’s listeners.
With the help of co-executive producer Rex Allen Jr. and producer Paul Martin, The Lost Nashville Sessions has been meticulously enhanced with subtle instrumentation and background vocals while preserving Jones’ signature sound. The result is a collection that feels both nostalgic and timeless, offering a rare look at Jones’ artistry during this period.
