GRAMMY® Award-winning country artist Gretchen Wilson has been announced as the “tour manager” for THE ROAD, an upcoming CBS music competition series set to premiere in fall 2025 on CBS and Paramount+.
In this unique role, Wilson will mentor up-and-coming musicians as they journey across the country, offering her first-hand knowledge of life on the road. Her guidance and encouragement will help shape their development both on and off the stage.
A Mentor with Real Road Experience
As “tour manager,” Wilson plays a pivotal behind-the-scenes role, supporting the performers as they navigate the challenges of a national music tour. Drawing on her own years of touring success, she’s committed to helping them grow as artists and connect with live audiences.
“Stepping into the role of ‘tour manager’ for THE ROAD has allowed me to take everything I’ve learned over all of my years of touring and pour it right back into these emerging musicians,” Wilson shared. “Helping them sharpen their talents to capture the attention of these crowds across America, and guiding them through the real and raw grind of life on the road, has been a highlight of my career.”

In addition to mentoring, Wilson will also perform on the series, bringing her chart-topping talent to the stage.
Inside The Road: A New Kind of Music Competition
THE ROAD offers a fresh take on the music competition genre, following emerging artists as they travel from city to city, opening for country superstar Keith Urban, who also serves as the show’s headliner and executive producer.
Blake Shelton joins Urban in the mission to find the next breakout music star, while the audience gets a backstage pass into the fast-paced, high-stakes life of a touring artist.
