The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo™ will wrap up its 94th edition with a special full-length concert from Texas native and country music powerhouse Cody Johnson on Sunday, March 22, 2026. Johnson will become only the second artist in RODEOHOUSTON history to headline a concert-only performance.

“Over the years, Cody has become a part of our beloved tradition – from captivating thousands year-after-year to recording RODEOHOUSTON’s official brand anthem,” said Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo president and CEO, Chris Boleman. “We are thrilled he is just as honored as we are to return in 2026.”

A Longtime Rodeo Favorite Returns

Cody Johnson, known for his traditional country sound and electrifying stage presence, has performed at RODEOHOUSTON five times, including in 2017, 2018, 2019, 2022, and 2023. His 2019 track, Welcome to the Show, was written and recorded specifically as the Rodeo’s official theme song.

Over the years, Johnson has built a loyal following at RODEOHOUSTON. His 2022 and 2023 performances drew more than 70,500 and 73,000 fans, respectively. In 2024, he surprised guests with an unexpected appearance during Jelly Roll’s show.

A Career on Fire

Johnson’s momentum hasn’t slowed. Often dubbed “the future of real country music,” he continues to earn critical acclaim and industry recognition. His accolades include:

  • 2025 ACM Song of the Year for “Dirt Cheap”
  • CMT Artist of the Year
  • Three CMT Music Awards
  • Four CMA Awards, including Album of the Year in 2024
  • iHeart Music Awards’ Best New Country Artist in 2023

“Every performance at RODEOHOUSTON is a privilege and as a Rodeo man at heart, being asked to perform on a special night like this surpasses any of my wildest dreams,” Johnson shared.
