Miranda Lambert and Chris Stapleton Release First Official Duet, “A Song to Sing”

Miranda Lambert and Chris Stapleton

Two of country music’s most powerful voices, Miranda Lambert and Chris Stapleton, have finally released their first official duet. Titled “A Song to Sing,” the track arrived today, offering fans a heartfelt collaboration that feels both fresh and familiar.

Lambert teased the release on Instagram ahead of the launch, sharing that Stapleton deeply connected with the emotional heart of the song, which is something she attributes in part to his shared musical and personal journey with his wife, Morgane.

A Long-Standing Musical Connection

While “A Song to Sing” is their first officially billed duet, Lambert and Stapleton have a long history of collaborating. Lambert co-wrote Stapleton’s 2023 release “What Am I Gonna Do,” a song they have performed live together on multiple occasions.

Their history of on-stage moments includes a moving 2021 ACM Awards performance of “Maggie’s Song” and a 2016 cover of The Temptations’ “My Girl.” These performances laid the foundation for what would eventually become an official studio pairing.

New Music from Two Country Powerhouses

“A Song to Sing” is Stapleton’s second new release of 2025, following “Bad as I Used to Be,” which appeared on the soundtrack for the upcoming F1 film. For Lambert, the duet adds to a steady stream of new music following her 2024 album Postcards From Texas. In recent months, she’s released tracks like “Ain’t In Kansas Anymore” from the Twisters soundtrack and “Trailblazer,” a powerful collaboration with Reba McEntire and Lainey Wilson.
