Billy Currington Returns to His Roots with New Album ‘King of the World’

Billy Currington

Multi-platinum country singer and songwriter Billy Currington is back with King of the World, his highly anticipated seventh studio album, out now via MCA Nashville. The 10-track project, produced by longtime collaborator Carson Chamberlain, finds Currington revisiting the sound that first made him a staple in country music, with upbeat melodies, timeless stories, and a natural charm that shines through every lyric.

“This album is about getting back to my country roots,” Currington shared. “It all started when I went to lunch with my buddy Carson Chamberlain – we worked on the first five albums together. We were just talking about life and catching up since I had not seen him in about ten years. The conversation led us to want to make an album together again and from there it was pure excitement.”

A Star-Studded Lineup of Songwriters

Currington co-wrote several tracks on King of the World alongside some of the most respected names in country songwriting, including Scotty Emerick and Dean Dillon. The album also features contributions from Paul Overstreet, Ben Hayslip, and Troy Jones, writers who helped craft some of Currington’s biggest hits like “People Are Crazy” and “Pretty Good At Drinking Beer.”

Each song brings a blend of classic country instrumentation and relatable storytelling, offering fans both nostalgia and freshness in equal measure.
