Country singer-songwriter Tori Martin brings her evocative new single “Last Night In Laredo” to life with the premiere of its official video. The track, which dropped on Friday, October 24, marks Martin’s latest release with LuckySky Music and offers a raw, cinematic take on fleeting love and heartbreak under the rodeo lights.
“I think the video perfectly captures the heart of the song,” Martin said. “We took a stripped-back approach to the production of ‘Last Night In Laredo’, and I wanted the video to reflect that same feeling.”
Produced and directed by Justin Frech with LuckySky Music serving as Executive Producer, the visual was filmed at Town Studios in East Nashville.
A Classic Country Story Reimagined
Co-written by Tori Martin, Kirsti Manna, and Maddie Lenhart, “Last Night In Laredo” is an emotional ode to love lost and lessons learned.
Martin shared, “I see it as a sister song to ‘Abilene,’ echoing the same heartache through a stripped-down, intimate lens. It’s a classic Country story song, reminiscent of the ones I listened to growing up, and it’s from the perspective of a girl who falls for a rodeo rider – risking everything for a shot at love.”
The song opens with a warm resonator guitar before unfolding into Martin’s powerful yet tender vocals. Producer Bill Warner praised Martin’s delivery, “Tori brings the ability to go big when the moment calls for it and is equally adept at delivering heartfelt nuanced lines. The vibe and mood of this song really provided an emotional space where her subtle side could shine. ‘Last Night In Laredo’ is definitely one of my favorite vocal performances that we’ve captured.”
