At Country Evolution, we have a passion for philanthropy and also support those who are giving back. The ACM Party for a Cause does just that. It benefits ACM Lifting Lives®, the philanthropic arm of the Academy of Country Music.
ACM Party for a Cause events have raised over $500,000 through ticket proceeds. In total, the Academy of Country Music and ACM Lifting Lives® have a 50-year history of charitable giving. Since 2006 ACM Lifting Lives® has given more than $7 million to more than 150 worthy causes.
After a brief hiatus in 2020 due to the pandemic, ACM Party for a Cause returned for the first time in Nashville on August 24 at the Ascend Amphitheater. Tenille Townes kicked off the show with an energetic performance. Next, Mickey Guyton performed three new songs, including a patriotic one that had the crowd cheering.
Each performer gave around a three-song, bitesized show, which was the perfect amount of time to get a snippet of their sound (although, we could have listened to many of them all night!). The show moved smoothly and effortlessly.
ACM Party for a Cause Highlights
- Trisha Yearwood was my personal favorite of the night, bringing back 90s nostalgia with “She’s in Love with the Boy” and “Runaway Joe”.
- Sam Hunt had the crowd on its feet with his smash hit “Body Like a Back Road.”
- Lee Brice gave a nod to all the great people that serve our country, including the military, nurses, teachers, etc.
- Keith Urban introduced a new song dedicated to all of the dreamers and drifters out there. He positioned it as a “middle finger” to all the naysayers.
- Old Dominion brought on surprise guest Caitlyn Smith.
- Maren Morris and Ryan Hurd’s live performance of “Chasing After You” amplified the emotion within that song.
