Today, young country artist Alex Miller celebrated the release of his new music video, “She Makes Dirt Look Good.” A perfect companion to his recent single, the video captures the spirit of rural Kentucky and a love story that thrives in the countryside. Directed by Steve Kinney, a longtime collaborator of Miller’s, the video was filmed over two days in Bowling Green and Hodgenville, Kentucky.
Miller’s Favorite Scenes and Filming Locations
“Man, I can’t tell you how much fun this shoot was,” Alex shared in a press release. The video features the iconic scenery of Kentucky backroads, complete with pickup trucks, massive farming equipment, and expansive fields. Wright Implement, Miller’s local John Deere dealership, plays a special role, as Alex is seen driving his favorite Deere equipment—a nod to the dealership’s legacy since 1936. “They take good care of us,” he added.
Country Love Story with a Rural Backdrop
Starring alongside Miller in the video is Nashville actress Ayla Demirci, who plays his love interest. The storyline captures the two as they share sunny days working in the fields and spend nights together under vibrant Kentucky sunsets. Demirci’s character is portrayed as a skilled mechanic, adding depth to her role as she repairs machinery, while Miller’s character shows his hardworking side as a local farm boy. Their chemistry and tender moments lend an authentic touch to the story, which Miller says was essential for him as a farmer himself.
A Tribute to Agriculture and Local Heritage
Additional scenes were shot at Freshstart Farms in Hodgenville, a longtime farming staple in the area. “I’m a farmer, so I wanted to depict agriculture in an accurate way,” Miller explained. “It was important to me to use local places in this video, and Freshstart is one of the oldest farms in the area—beautiful, too.” From the towering grain silos to the high-tech Deere machinery working under the night sky, the video is a visual tribute to Kentucky’s farming life.
Drone Shots and Cinematic Style
With stunning drone footage capturing sweeping shots of fields and silos, the video combines classic country storytelling with a fresh, cinematic perspective. The aerial shots elevate the visuals and celebrate the landscape Miller calls home.
The video for “She Makes Dirt Look Good” is an authentic celebration of country life, family values, and Miller’s own deep connection to his farming heritage, making it a must-watch for fans of traditional country music.
