Ashley McBryde is bringing a new kind of bar to Broadway, one that champions authenticity, sobriety, and the stories behind the songs. On August 28, the GRAMMY-winning singer-songwriter will open Redemption Bar, a unique venue located on the fifth floor of Chief’s, Eric Church’s six-story flagship space in downtown Nashville.

The concept is deeply personal to McBryde. As someone who’s been sober for three years, she wanted to create a place where people feel welcome regardless of what’s in their cup.

“When the opportunity to make my mark on Broadway came, I knew I wanted to create a space that champions what’s made a difference in my life; a space that lifts up the brushed aside, and makes sure everyone feels welcome,” says McBryde.

Redemption will feature a thoughtfully crafted zero-proof cocktail menu, each drink named after lyrics that helped carry McBryde forward in her own life. But the atmosphere is far from quiet. It’s a place designed to celebrate connection and creativity, with music at the heart of it all.

“As someone who is three years sober, the typical response to ‘do you have anything Non-Alcoholic?’ is either ‘why did you come to a bar if you aren’t gonna drink?’ or ‘you can have soda water and a lime I guess,’” McBryde explained. “It was vital that I create a space where not drinking is the forethought—normalized. You can get alcohol drinks in Redemption too, because everyone is welcome.”

A Stage for Storytellers

More than just a bar, Redemption is also a venue where songwriters take center stage. Artists who lead with lyrics and bring original music to the forefront will be spotlighted regularly, providing both locals and tourists a chance to experience the roots of country music culture.

“Songwriters are the backbone of this community,” says McBryde. “It’s important to me to create a place for all the tourists on lower Broadway to experience original music from some of the people who are keeping dreams alive in this town.”

Her decision to partner with longtime friend Eric Church on this project underscores the authenticity of the venue’s mission. Both artists have built careers grounded in raw honesty, personal storytelling, and a refusal to follow the typical industry script.

“Redemption is a great place to start a conversation,” McBryde adds. “A spot with incredible drinks of all kinds that are as well crafted and thought out as the songs you’re hearing from the vagabonds, drifters, and dreamers that make this music city, Music City.”

A Career Built on Grit and Growth

McBryde’s own journey through the music industry is one defined by resilience. Since the release of her 2018 major-label debut Girl Going Nowhere, she’s earned a slew of accolades including CMA, ACM, and GRAMMY awards. Her chart-topping duet with Carly Pearce, “Never Wanted To Be That Girl,” went all the way to No. 1 and won Musical Event of the Year from both the CMA and ACM.

She’s also received multiple GRAMMY nominations for her albums Never Will and Ashley McBryde Presents: Lindeville, and in 2022, she was honored with the CMA International Artist Achievement Award. Her most recent album The Devil I Know has been named one of the best country albums of the year by outlets like Rolling Stone and Billboard.

Just last month, McBryde released the long-awaited fan favorite “Rattlesnake Preacher” and continues to tour nationally with select festival appearances this summer.

Going Nowhere and Loving It

With Redemption Bar, Ashley McBryde reimagines what a night on Broadway can be: an evening rooted in connection, filled with songs that matter, and open to everyone, whether you’re drinking or not.

As the sign says: Going Nowhere since 2025. And loving every minute of it.
