Celebrating Highway Prayers
The tour showcases Strings’ latest album, Highway Prayers, which debuted at #1 on Billboard’s Top Album Sales chart last fall. This milestone marks the first time in 22 years that a bluegrass album has topped the all-genre chart. Produced by Strings and Jon Brion, the album has been lauded by critics. GQ hailed Strings as “the hottest roots-music phenomenon in decades,” while Pitchfork praised the record’s exploration of “new textures and emotional registers.”
A Rising Star in Bluegrass
Hailing from Michigan and now based in Nashville, Strings has become one of bluegrass music’s most celebrated artists. Highway Prayers follows his first live album, Billy Strings Live Vol. 1, which debuted at #1 on Billboard’s Bluegrass Albums chart and is currently nominated for Best Bluegrass Album at the upcoming Grammy Awards.
The live album features fan favorites like “Dust in a Baggie” and “Turmoil & Tinfoil,” recorded during Strings’ electrifying performances across global venues such as Paris’ La Cigale, Nashville’s Ryman Auditorium, and Austin’s Moody Center.
Awards and Recognition
Since his 2017 debut, Strings has amassed a string of prestigious accolades, including:
- Best Bluegrass Album at the 63rd Grammy Awards
- Artist of the Year at the 2023 and 2022 Americana Music Awards
- Entertainer of the Year at the International Bluegrass Music Awards for three consecutive years
- Numerous appearances on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, and PBS’ Austin City Limits
