Eastern Kentucky songwriter and recording artist Brit Taylor has unveiled her latest single, “Around and Around,” offering a thoughtful look at the pressures of modern life and the desire to break free from routine. The track arrives ahead of her forthcoming album Land of the Forgotten, set for release March 6 via RidgeTone Records and Thirty Tigers.
“This song is a story about the American rat race and a strong-willed girl trying to figure out how in the hell to get out of it,” Taylor says of the new release. While the narrative is not fully autobiographical, it draws from personal experiences and emotions. “She’s questioning all of it. I think it’s healthy to ask questions. I felt a lot like this throughout high school. I always felt like there was something else out there calling me.”
A Song Rooted in Appalachian Storytelling and 90s Country Influence
“Around and Around” blends elements of Appalachian fiddle-driven music with the singalong appeal of 90s country radio. The song paints a vivid picture of feeling stuck and searching for meaning, with Taylor delivering lines such as “Try to think positive / Find a little love to give / Only way we’re gonna get by by by.”
Reflecting on the themes, Taylor adds, “Now, some of the things I was running from are the ones I appreciate more than ever. But it’s all shaped who I am and has given me a bigger perspective on the ways I view life.”

Land of the Forgotten Arrives March 6
The new single is part of Taylor’s upcoming eleven-track album Land of the Forgotten, produced by her husband Adam Chaffins. Alongside Chaffins and songwriter Adam Wright, Taylor crafted a collection of hook-driven songs that focus on working-class stories, personal growth, and her connection to Appalachia.
“I think it puts a light-hearted spin on some of the tougher things about life,” Taylor explains. “Not to make light of difficult times, but to remind us two things can exist at one time, and not to forget to take a look at the bright side too, and to not take it all so seriously.”
Early Praise and Streaming Availability
The new single premiered via Holler., which praised the track, writing, “’Around and Around’ captures the storytelling depth and fiddle-driven Appalachian spirit that permeates so much of Taylor’s stellar catalogue.” Fans can stream or purchase the song now, along with previously released tracks “All For Sale” and “Warning You Whiskey.”
