Chancey Williams’ New Song Available Now, Cheyenne Frontier Days Hall of Fame Induction Awaits
Country artist Chancey Williams, known for his “pleasant baritone wrapped around honky tonk songs” (Billboard), is back with a new single, “One Bad Mutha Buckaroo,” available today!
This mid-tempo, electric guitar-driven track offers a humorous glimpse into the life of a free-spirited cowboy. Co-written by Williams and singer-songwriter Brice Long, the song paints a picture of a good-time Charley who thrives on whiskey and late nights, finding solace in the back of his truck with his loyal blue-eyed border collie pup. All this, of course, is delivered with Williams’ signature twang.
Inspiration Behind the Song
“Man, I had a blast writing this song because everyone back where I grew up knows exactly the kind of person who is ‘One Bad Mutha Buckaroo,'” Williams said. “He’s a real cowboy. A man’s man. He could probably stand to settle down a little one day soon. But he’s never going to.”

Fresh Off Success and Upcoming Accolades
“One Bad Mutha Buckaroo” follows the critically acclaimed January release of “A Cowboy Who Would,” an anti-“leaving kind” anthem. The single garnered significant airplay across country stations nationwide and featured placement on prestigious programs like PickleJar’s “Up All Night” and Country Top 40’s Launchpad with Fitz!
The new release precedes Williams’ induction into the Cheyenne Frontier Days Hall of Fame this September, a testament to his growing legacy in country music.
Building on Momentum
Last year, Williams released his sixth studio album, “One of These Days,” receiving rave reviews from outlets like People, Billboard, and Whiskey Riff, who declared him “the real deal” and “a damn good songwriter.” 2023 also saw him achieve several performance milestones, including a debut at the Grand Ole Opry (with a return engagement in September), a spot on the Dr. Pepper Amp Stage at CMA Music Festival, and a packed touring schedule featuring headlining dates and support slots for artists like Parker McCollum and Ian Munsick. Notably, Williams even opened a performance at the National Finals Rodeo for the fifth time and graced the stage at The Chelsea, a major Las Vegas venue.
With a new song, upcoming Hall of Fame recognition, and a history of impressive achievements, Chancey Williams continues to solidify his position as a prominent voice in country music.
