Get ready for the ultimate summer music event as the Country Music Association (CMA) announces that the “CMA Fest” concert special will air on Tuesday, June 25 at 8/7c on ABC, with next-day streaming available on Hulu. This three-hour primetime extravaganza will be filmed in Nashville during the 51st CMA Fest, taking place later this week. Hosting the event are none other than Jelly Roll and Ashley McBryde.
“When my buddy Jelly Roll and I walked out into this massive crowd and felt the electric energy for the first time, it felt important,” says McBryde. “We were nervous! But it also felt good, because at the root of it all, it’s just me and my pal cutting up, only we’re doing it on national television for CMA Fest.”
The “CMA Fest” special promises to deliver an unforgettable experience with exclusive performances and unexpected collaborations from some of the biggest names in country music. While the lineup remains under wraps, fans can expect an array of stellar performances.
Produced by the Country Music Association, the television special is executive produced and written by Robert Deaton and directed by Alan Carter. This marks the 21st consecutive year that CMA has brought a summer concert special to TV audiences.
The roots of the “CMA Fest” stretch back to 1972 when it began as Fan Fair®, attracting 5,000 attendees to Nashville’s Municipal Auditorium. Today, it has evolved into a hallmark event of the city, drawing tens of thousands of fans from all 50 states and 39 countries worldwide. The festival is unique in that hundreds of artists volunteer their time to perform, with proceeds supporting high-quality music education programs nationwide through the CMA Foundation.
