Colton James just released the video for “I Miss America,” a song that gives out a nostalgic sentiment and the video reflects it as well.
James explained that, “‘I Miss America’ is a song about all of our values of America, what people think, and what people grew up on.” The tune is about a desire to return to the America he grew up in, where families made memories and gathered around Grandma’s table for Sunday lunch.
Its video expands on this concept, showing the people who make America great – our military, healthcare workers, people helping one another, etc. “I’m so excited about the video,” he shared.
James wrote the song with Rick Dawson and said, “We wanted to put a smile on everyone’s face with this song and the video.”

Upcoming EP
James is set to release his first EP in early 2023 and couldn’t be more excited about it. He said, “I have always said music is the voice of the soul, and I couldn’t be happier to share this music with the world. As a painter paints with a brush, a songwriter paints with a pen. I hope the picture I painted in these seven songs puts a smile on your face and proud feeling in your hearts to be American. It was an honor to work with all that made this EP possible.”
