Craig Campbell’s 7th Annual Celebrity Cornhole Challenge

We had the opportunity to cover Craig Campbell’s 7th Annual Celebrity Cornhole Challenge that happened on June 4 at the Omni Hotel in downtown Nashville. This event benefits Fight Colorectal Cancer (Fight CRC) and honors Campbell’s father who passed away from colorectal cancer. Fans are allowed to bid to play with the celebrities in hopes of winning the challenge.

There were several big names in Country music that attended the event from newer artists like Jimmie Allen and Lauren Alaina to the greats like Mark Wills, Craig Campbell, Clay Walker, and so many more! All the artists have come together to support this fight and charity and it was really wonderful to see.

Since this was a competition, a lot of the celebrities came prepared in smack talking and training but there were also some who were not prepared at all and were just there to have a good time. “This is all about having fun,” Mark Wills said but he also understood that it’s a team effort, “You can be the best “cornholer” in the room and if your partner is horrible, you’re going to die.” The celebrities partners were fans who bid to play with them and some of them have never really played cornhole in their life so it was fun to watch.

Hit singer/songwriter Craig Campbell talked to Country Evolution about the challenge saying, “The fact that we’ve been able to do this for seven years in a row is pretty awesome and the amount of money we’ve raised, I’m very proud.” The Celebrity Cornhole Challenge has raised over $300,000 for Fight CRC and Craig has been a spokesperson for them for over 5 years. “My dream is to have this event at LP Field (Nissan Stadium), have the biggest cornhole tournament in the world,” said Craig. He wants to keep doing this tournament and raising more money and more awareness in hopes of getting bigger and bigger.

The competition itself was done in multiple rounds and spectators were allowed to gather around and watch or cheer for the celebrities and their partners. After the competition there was a concert that up and coming Country musician, Trea Landon, opened for. Following Trea, Craig Campbell closed out the event by putting on a full band show for everyone who attended.
