Drew Baldridge is back with his latest single, “Tough People,” now available on all streaming platforms. Co-written by Baldridge alongside Adam Sanders, Jordan Walker, and country superstar Luke Combs, the song follows the success of Baldridge’s recent No. 1 hit, “She’s Somebody’s Daughter.”
A Song of Resilience and Determination
Baldridge shared the personal significance behind “Tough People,” saying, “This song means so much to me. Our world is full of tough people fighting to stay ahead every day. But for me, it’s my story about not giving up on my dreams. I had to risk everything to make ‘She’s Somebody’s Daughter’ a hit. It was definitely a tough time for me, but our team kept our heads down, worked hard, and pulled out a win—hard work pays off, good beats evil, and tough times make tough people.”
New Beginnings with BBR Music Group/BMG Nashville
The release of “Tough People” coincides with Baldridge’s new partnership with BBR Music Group/BMG Nashville. The Billboard “Indie Label of the Year” will support his latest single on country radio, with the official radio push beginning on November 4 through Stoney Creek Records.
A Hometown Music Video
The music video for “Tough People” premieres today at 4:00 PM CT on YouTube. It was filmed in Baldridge’s hometown of Patoka, Illinois, a small town with a population of 550. The video features real residents, including cancer patients, farmers, and nearly 1,000 locals from the surrounding area who came together to be a part of the production. These individuals and their stories mirror the song’s message of resilience and strength.
A New Management Team
Baldridge recently joined forces with Left | Right Management, solidifying his team as he moves into the next phase of his career. John Meneilly, President of Left | Right, expressed his enthusiasm: “From the moment I met Drew, I knew I wanted to be an advocate for everything he stood for.” In addition to Meneilly, Baldridge’s management team includes Jay King, Alex Goodman, and Hannah McElroy, who will handle his day-to-day operations.
Making Country Music History
In August, Drew Baldridge made history when “She’s Somebody’s Daughter” topped the Country Aircheck/Mediabase chart, earning an RIAA GOLD certification. He became the first self-funded artist to achieve a No. 1 song with his debut single and set a new record as the highest-charting independent artist on the Billboard Country Airplay chart—a title previously held by Aaron Watson since 2017. The song has generated over 1.1 billion streams and impressions worldwide.
Touring and Radio Show
Baldridge is currently on tour with his Drew Baldridge Live dates scheduled through the end of 2024. He is also gearing up to join Cody Johnson’s Leather Deluxe Tour in 2025. Besides performing and recording, he hosts a weekly radio show on LA’s Go Country (KKGO) every Saturday and Sunday from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM PT, bringing fans closer to his world.
