Eddie Montgomery, the powerhouse vocalist behind Montgomery Gentry, has officially been named the Brand Ambassador for Southern Kentucky Distillery (SKD)—a partnership that feels as natural as a Kentucky sunrise. Known for his rowdy anthems and unmistakable voice, Montgomery’s connection to his home state makes him a fitting face for the fast-growing distillery.
A Perfect Match of Music and Moonshine
SKD, founded by three proud Kentuckians, made history by producing the first “legal” bourbon in Cumberland County since Prohibition. Nestled in the Foothill Mountains of Appalachia, the distillery offers an impressive range of handcrafted spirits including:
- Slate Fork Moonshine (in six flavors)
- Ancient Sun Vodka
- Turby’s Cherrywood Bourbon
- Mad Monkey Cinnamon Whiskey
The distillery is a destination for both Bourbon Trail and Moonshine Trail travelers, drawing thousands of tourists visiting the nearby Lake Cumberland, Dale Hollow Lake, and the Cumberland River.

Eddie Montgomery isn’t slowing down anytime soon. With his six-song EP, Home Run, he adds fresh tracks to a catalog that includes five No. 1 country hits, a Grand Ole Opry membership, and a Kentucky Music Hall of Fame induction. The EP features stories of hard work, brotherhood, fatherly advice, and a boot-stomping new take on Montgomery Gentry’s debut hit, “Hillbilly Shoes.”Fans can catch Montgomery Gentry featuring Eddie Montgomery on the road this spring and summer.
