The Prine family has announced the schedule for the fourth and final You Got Gold: Celebrating the Songs of John Prine, which will return to Nashville from October 9–12, 2025. The highly anticipated event will feature performances at several of the city’s most iconic venues, including the historic Ryman Auditorium on October 10, which would have been John Prine’s birthday, as well as The Basement East, The Bluebird Cafe, and the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum’s CMA Theater.
In addition to concerts, the four-day celebration will include official pop-up events, a film screening, song circles, and more. Proceeds benefit The Hello In There Foundation and its community grantees. The CMA Theater, Bluebird Cafe, and Basement East performances are already sold out.

A Farewell Filled with Gratitude
“For the past four years, we’ve been grateful to share a journey of love, music, and memory with you at You Got Gold – celebrating the incomparable life and songs of our beloved John Prine,” says Fiona Prine. “With lots of gratitude in our hearts, we’re announcing that this October’s gathering in Nashville will mark our final year of this very special event. Witnessing John’s community of fans return year after year has been nothing short of magical. But perhaps what has moved us most deeply is watching the beautiful connections you’ve strengthened with each other. We promise to share more opportunities to do that in 2026 and beyond.”
Supporting The Hello In There Foundation
Since its launch in 2021, The Hello In There Foundation has donated more than $1 million by the end of 2024. Last year’s You Got Gold raised over $300,000 for the foundation’s mission, which focuses on connecting with and uplifting marginalized or forgotten individuals and communities.
The 2024 lineup featured Jackson Browne, Rosanne Cash, Patti Griffin, SG Goodman, Jesse Welles, Elizabeth Cook, Amanda Shires, Billy Ray Cyrus, Buddy Miller, and others. These performances both celebrated John Prine’s legacy and generated significant support for the foundation’s work.
The Legacy of John Prine
John Prine’s career spanned more than five decades. He was a four-time Grammy winner, a recipient of the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award, a seven-time Americana Music Award winner, a PEN New England Lyrics Award recipient, and a member of both the Songwriters Hall of Fame and the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame. Since his 1971 debut, he released more than 18 albums, with his songs recorded by artists including Johnny Cash, Carly Simon, Bette Midler, Bonnie Raitt, Norah Jones, George Strait, Miranda Lambert, and the Zac Brown Band. His work earned praise from Bob Dylan, Kris Kristofferson, Roger Waters, Tom Petty, Bruce Springsteen, and many more who knew him as a smiling, shuffling force for good.
