A Full-Circle Moment for Flat River Band

This release holds special meaning for Flat River Band, marking a return to a creative partnership with Duane Allen and The Oak Ridge Boys. The two groups first worked together on the 2018 holiday film The Least of These, A Christmas Story, where Flat River Band provided the entire soundtrack. Since then, the relationship has only grown stronger, with The Oak Ridge Boys continuing to champion the trio’s music.

“It’s a great compliment and we think it’s an honor to be asked,” said Duane Allen of The Oak Ridge Boys. “I love the Flat River Band. We did a movie together, a lot of people might not know that, but we did a Christmas movie and they did the music for the whole soundtrack. I became a follower of theirs, a fan of theirs. I’ve been listening to a bunch of the things they’ve been putting out for several years now, and it’s great to see all of them here in our hometown of Hendersonville, TN.”

A Childhood Dream Realized

The Sitze brothers of Flat River Band, Andy, Chad, and Dennijo, grew up on country classics and recall a particularly memorable moment tied to this song.

“When we were kids, we couldn’t wait to hop off the bus and race home to catch reruns of Dukes of Hazzard,” the band shared. “I still vividly remember the episode where Roscoe set up a speed trap and JD Hogg had The Oak Ridge Boys perform ‘Leaving Louisiana in the Broad Daylight.’ It was such a memorable moment for us. Now, being able to perform that song live and in studio with The Oak Ridge Boys feels like a childhood dream come true.”

The group’s interpretation of the song pays homage to their musical roots while highlighting their unique blend of harmony and soul.

Building Momentum in Americana and Country Music

This release adds to a growing list of accomplishments for Flat River Band. The trio’s recent vinyl release God Bless the Radio continues to earn praise from both Americana and country music communities. Their continued output showcases their ability to honor the past while forging their own musical path.
