From West Coast Dreams to Nashville Scenes: The Journey of Ashley Ryan

Ashley Ryan

Country music’s newest sensation, Ashley Ryan, is making waves in Nashville and beyond with her debut EP, “Too Far Gone.” Hailing from Corona, California, Ryan’s journey into the heart of country music began with a passion for poetry at a young age, which seamlessly transitioned into songwriting when her grandfather gifted her first guitar at 16. Now, with the release of her EP, Ryan is captivating audiences with her authentic sound and captivating storytelling.

“Too Far Gone” is a collection of fan favorites and fresh tunes, showcasing Ryan’s unique blend of classic country with a modern twist. From the viral sensation “Hush Little Baby,” with over 18 million streams and 30 million video views, to heartfelt tracks like “Just A House” and “Yours,” Ryan’s EP offers something for every listener. Produced by Larry McCoy and co-written by Ryan and McCoy, with the exception of a cover of Journey’s “Lovin’, Touchin’, Squeezin’,” the EP is a testament to Ryan’s songwriting prowess and ability to connect with her audience.

In a press release statement, Ryan expressed her excitement about the release of her first EP, stating, “I cannot believe my first EP is already here! Early 2000s country is what made me want to become an artist in the first place, so when it came to writing these songs, I wanted to make sure listeners would get that nostalgic feeling that takes you back.”

Ryan’s journey to Nashville was marked by a chance encounter with four-time GRAMMY® Award-winning country star Keith Urban, who recognized her musical talents at a private event. A spontaneous duet of Urban’s hit song “Without You” led to an invitation to perform at Urban’s sold-out show at Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena, catapulting Ryan into the spotlight.

Drawing inspiration from her love of rock and roll and early 2000s country, Ryan’s music embodies a blend of gritty authenticity and modern energy. “I grew up singing ‘Before He Cheats’ and ‘Gunpowder and Lead,'” she explains. “I really love fiddle in a song – I love that old traditional country, the grungy female country with the sassy drop D guitar and rolling banjo. So that’s what you’ll get from me.”

One highlight of Ryan’s EP is the line dance accompanying her song “Too Far Gone.” Created by her friends Tessa and Dustin Sturm, the dance adds an extra layer of fun to the already infectious track. Ryan’s commitment to engaging with her audience extends beyond the music itself, creating an immersive experience for fans both on and off the dance floor.

With her debut EP “Too Far Gone,” Ashley Ryan is making her mark on the country music scene, blending nostalgia with modern flair and captivating audiences with her raw talent and infectious energy. As she continues to pave her own path in Nashville and beyond, Ryan’s star is undoubtedly on the rise, leaving an indelible mark on the world of country music.
