Prepare for a seismic shift in country music as George Ducas gears up to release his latest album, Long Way From Home, set to hit shelves on June 21. Produced by Grammy-winning maestro Pete Anderson, this LP promises to redefine the genre’s boundaries and deliver a sonic experience like no other.
Ducas isn’t new to the scene; he’s earned his stripes with multiple Billboard chart-toppers, including the infectious “Lipstick Promises.” Not content with just personal success, he’s penned hits for legends like George Jones, Garth Brooks, and The Chicks, leaving an indelible mark on country music history.
But Long Way From Home isn’t just another album—it’s a revelation. Combining the raw grit of Dust Bowl anthems, the high-octane energy of Bakersfield country, and the contemporary flair of LA’s honky-tonk scene, Ducas crafts a sound that’s both timeless and cutting-edge.
Behind the scenes, Pete Anderson was the perfect partner, bringing Ducas’s vision to life with precision and passion. “Country music is one of those sounds that needs to hit the bullseye to matter. Anything short of that just flies by and doesn’t much matter,” says Anderson. “And that’s the thing about George Ducas’ songs when I first heard them: they nailed me to the wall. The man had such heart-tugging emotions in what he did that there was no way to ignore him. It’s like he reached right out and grabbed me and shook me around. I had to listen.”
The album’s lead single, “Cryin’ Time,” made waves on SiriusXM’s Outlaw Country, paving the way for the electrifying release of “Hello Fool.” With its toe-tapping rhythm and soul-stirring instrumentation, this track embodies everything great about classic country music while injecting a fresh perspective.
Reflecting on his musical journey, Ducas shares, “I realized a while back, somewhere between cutting my teeth on Willie Nelson’s ‘Bloody Mary Mornin’ and Buck Owens’ ‘Act Naturally,’ that I really hold to that song style as my center of gravity.” With “Hello Fool,” he channels the spirit of country icons like Willie Nelson and Buck Owens, creating a song that’s both nostalgic and innovative.
As “Long Way From Home” prepares to hit the airwaves, George Ducas stands at the forefront of a new era in country music. With his unmistakable sound and unwavering passion, he’s poised to captivate audiences old and new, leaving an indelible mark on the genre he loves.
