Country music legend George Strait is stepping up to help his fellow Texans in the wake of catastrophic flooding that swept across the state in July 2025. The King of Country has announced a special fundraising event set to take place in Boerne, Texas at the end of the month, aimed at providing immediate, tangible support for those directly affected by the floods. The event will also honor the heroic first responders who risked their lives to protect and rescue members of their communities during the storm.
A Community Devastated
Historic rainfall earlier this month led to catastrophic flooding across many areas of Texas, leaving behind destroyed homes, displaced families, and a long road to recovery. Central and South Texas were hit especially hard, with flash floods overwhelming neighborhoods and infrastructure in a matter of hours. As emergency crews worked around the clock to perform rescues and offer aid, communities began to lean on one another for hope and support. Now, George Strait is lending his voice and his stage to the cause.
Strait’s Mission: Immediate, Direct Help
In a heartfelt message shared to his social media, Strait addressed the overwhelming impact the floods have had on the region:
“The destruction and loss in our community from the recent floods is hard to wrap your head around. Our hearts and prayers are with you all. The goal with this event is to raise meaningful, immediate support that can be put directly into the hands of flood victims without delay, while also honoring the first responders that work tirelessly to save lives.”
The event, backed by the Vaqueros del Mar Texas Flood Relief Fund, a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit, promises that all proceeds will go directly to flood victims. This grassroots approach ensures that funds reach families and individuals in need as quickly as possible, without being tied up in red tape.
