Country singer and songwriter Grant Gilbert has officially released his second full-length album West of Fort Worth through River House Artists. With more than 19 million global streams to date, Gilbert continues to showcase his Texas pride and musical evolution, blending traditional country with the bold, energetic sounds of artists like Bruce Springsteen and Creedence Clearwater Revival.

The new LP features standout tracks like “Drunk Since Dallas,” which became his third consecutive number one hit on Texas regional radio, and “Bad Reputation,” a gritty, rebellious duet with fellow Texan Hudson Westbrook that has already broken into the Top 40 just two weeks after hitting airwaves.

A Personal Project Rooted in Real Life

Reflecting on the album, Gilbert shares, “This album feels a little bit like coming home. The songs come from a real place, based on growing up in Texas and learning hard lessons. West of Fort Worth is a snapshot of where I’ve been, who I am, and where I’m headed next.”

The project was produced by Lukas Scott, known for his work with Hudson Westbrook and Austin Snell, and includes collaborations with several prominent songwriters. Among them are Dan Alley (Jon Pardi, Luke Bryan, Lainey Wilson), Brent Anderson (Scotty McCreery, Blake Shelton), and Joey Hendricks (Lady A, Dillon Carmichael, Nate Smith).

Blending Rock and Country with Storytelling

Gilbert teased the album with a series of singles, including the emotional “Where Do Dreams Go,” which Holler described as “blending the swagger of ’80s Don Henley with the neo-traditional honky tonk sensibilities of Midland.” The record’s title track stands as a tribute to his roots, showcasing Gilbert’s commitment to honoring where he comes from.

Spanning barroom anthems, heartfelt ballads, and down-to-earth storytelling, West of Fort Worth paints a fuller picture of Gilbert’s musical identity. It builds on the foundation he laid with his 2023 EP Between the Highways, produced by Jonathan Singleton and featuring co-writes with respected Nashville talents like Jessie Jo Dillon and a team-up with the Josh Abbott Band. This new album marks the first time Gilbert has taken full creative control, shaping a project that clearly defines who he is as an artist today.
