Jeannie Seely Set to Release Fresh Vocals

The fifty-three year member of the Grand Ole Opry®, Jeannie Seely will celebrate her 80th birthday with an album release this August. “Miss Country Soul” has dabbled in writing and acting in recent years on top of releasing numerous award-winning hits.

Seely’s roots are in Titusville, Pennsylvania- where the world’s first oil well was drilled in 1859. Her music interest was promoted by her parents whom encouraged her to preform banjo concerts on the weekends when she wasn’t working on the family’s farm. Soon after, Seely decided she was going to chase her music career. At age 21, she packed her life up into her car and moved to Los Angeles. There she wrote songs for Four Star Music and acted with Glen Campbell on the “Hollywood Jamboree” television show. Following her years of songwriting, Seely signed her own recording contract on Challenge Records. In 1965, with $50 and a Ford Falcon, she migrated to the country music capital of the world. Her career in country music was and continues to be nothing short of extraordinary.

Her latest album features Paul McCartney, hallmarks a previously unfinished Dottie West song, and contains a duet with long time friend, Willie Nelson.

The album titled, An American Classic will be released on August 14th. Pre-order of the tracks are available today.
