Joe Nichols, a three-time GRAMMY nominee and Quartz Hill Records artist, was honored on June 4 for a series of impressive career milestones. During his annual Fan Appreciation Party at the Troubadour Theatre in Nashville, Nichols was surprised with five official RIAA plaques celebrating his recent certifications.
A Night of Platinum Recognition
Nichols received Platinum plaques for four of his hit singles:
- “Sunny and 75”
- “Yeah”
- “Brokenheartsville”
- “Gimmie That Girl”
In addition to those awards, Nichols was presented with a special plaque for his 2x Platinum-certified hit, “Tequila Makes Her Clothes Fall Off,” which has remained one of his most recognizable songs.
To make the evening even more memorable, Nichols gave away an official Platinum plaque to one lucky fan in the audience. He also took a moment to recognize Benny Brown, his long-time label executive and the founder of Quartz Hill Records, by presenting him with a commemorative plaque. Brown previously supported the success of “Yeah” and “Sunny and 75” while leading RED Bow Records/BBR Music Group.
Nichols Shares Gratitude for Fans
Expressing his appreciation, Nichols said,
“I’m grateful to the RIAA for this honor, and to everyone I’ve worked with over the years but, sales and streams are really about my fans and how they’ve reacted to the music. That support honestly means the world to me and is what inspires me every day. So, being presented with these plaques at my fan party made it extra special, and I love that we organized an extra plaque for me to give away to one of the fans in a lucky draw. Tonight, I’m feeling pretty darn lucky myself, too.”
RIAA Commends Nichols’ Career Impact
Erin Burr, Senior Vice President of RIAA Media Relations and the Gold + Platinum Program, also spoke on Nichols’ contributions to country music.
“The RIAA is proud to recognize Joe Nichols’ lasting influence on Country music, marked by a 2x Platinum single, a Platinum album, and more than 8 million certified units in the US. Celebrating these incredible milestones alongside so many dedicated fans and creative partners who continue to support his music underscores the enduring impact of human artistry.”
