Rising country sensation Kassi Ashton has just released her brand new song, “Son Of A Gun,” via MCA Nashville. This release heralds the arrival of her highly anticipated full-length debut album, Made From The Dirt, set to drop on September 20, 2024. Fans can pre-order and pre-save the album HERE.

“Son Of A Gun” features dynamic guitars and a simmering backbeat, highlighting Kassi’s powerhouse vocal delivery. The song delves into her upbringing and personal journey, with gritty verses leading into a chantable chorus where she declares, “I’m a son of a bitch and a son of a gun.”
Kassi shared insights about the creation of the song: “This was the last song I wrote for the album. I wrote it with Jason Nix and Driver Williams, who plays guitar with Eric Church. It was the first time writing with Jason, and he warmed my heart because he had done so much research: he had stalked me on Instagram and gotten as much of a taste of who I am as he could without ever meeting me. His idea was like, ‘daughter of a gun,’ and I was like, I’d rather be called son of a gun — I always say I’m Daddy’s little boy anyway.”

Earlier this year, Kassi released the fan-favorite track “Called Crazy,” which has climbed to the Top 40 at Country Radio. Her confidence shines through as she sings about men who called her crazy but ultimately came back for more. In May, Kassi earned an ACM nomination for New Female Artist of the Year.
Last month, she gave fans another taste of her upcoming album with the release of “I Don’t Wanna Dance.” The song has gained momentum on streaming platforms and earned critical acclaim.
