Lukas Nelson Shares “Montana” Video

Grammy Award-winning singer, songwriter, and musician Lukas Nelson has released the music video for his song “Montana.” The visual, directed by Miles Reickert and Kehana Rose, was filmed in the picturesque setting of Emigrant, Montana.

The song appears on Nelson’s latest album American Romance, which was released earlier this summer through Sony Music Nashville. Since the record’s debut, Nelson has been featured on several major platforms including The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, The Howard Stern Show, The Joe Rogan Experience, and Rolling Stone’s Nashville Now podcast.

A New Era with American Romance

Produced by Grammy Award-winner Shooter Jennings, American Romance highlights Nelson’s versatility as a songwriter while blending traditional and modern country influences. The 12-track collection includes collaborations with Sierra Ferrell and Stephen Wilson Jr., weaving together stories inspired by Nelson’s experiences on the road.

Reflecting on the album, Nelson shared:

“This album is the first chapter in a whole new era of my life as an artist. It’s a love story to the country that raised me. Diners and highways that carried me through the joy and pain that led to the music you hear now.”

The project also features contributions from Anderson East, SistaStrings, Matt Chamberlain, Corey McCormick, Marty Muse, Russ Pahl, Chris Powell, Brian Whelan, and Eleanor Whitmore.

A Respected Career

Since debuting more than a decade ago, Lukas Nelson has become one of the most respected voices in modern music. He has released eight studio albums, including 2023’s Sticks and Stones, which spent 18 weeks in the top 10 of the Americana Albums chart and reached #1 on the Alt Country chart.

In addition to his solo work, Nelson has collaborated with artists such as Lainey Wilson, Miranda Lambert, Ernest, and The Pistol Annies. He also joined Sierra Ferrell and The Travelin’ McCourys for a bluegrass version of Adele’s “Someone Like You.”

Nelson’s career extends beyond the stage and studio. He co-produced and co-wrote music for the 2018 film A Star is Born, also appearing in the movie. The soundtrack went on to win a Grammy Award for Best Compilation Soundtrack for Visual Media and a BAFTA Award for Best Original Music.

He has sold out headline shows, performed at major festivals including Stagecoach, Ohana Festival, Bourbon & Beyond, and Farm Aid, and made appearances on late-night staples such as Jimmy Kimmel Live! and The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.
