Country superstar Luke Combs is gearing up for a monumental summer. Following his record-breaking “Growin’ Up and Gettin’ Old” stadium tour, Combs is set to release his highly anticipated new album, Fathers & Sons, on June 14th via Columbia Nashville. Fans can pre-order/pre-save the album now.
The emotional centerpiece of the album is the lead single, “The Man He Sees In Me,” which dropped today. Written by Combs and Josh Phillips, the song explores the powerful bond between a father and his sons. Combs shared a heartfelt message to his own sons alongside the song’s release:
“To my boys, first and foremost, I will always love you, no matter what. With this song I want you to know that even though I’m not perfect, I try my hardest every day to be the best version of myself for you both. I’ll make mistakes along the way and some days you’ll be sick of your old man, I’m sure, but, dang, we’ll have some fun too. I can’t wait to see what you both turn out to be like and I hope someday down the road, I get to watch you and your kids do the same. Love, Dad.”
Fathers & Sons is a deeply personal collection for Combs, featuring 12 poignant tracks recorded entirely live. The album showcases Combs’ most introspective songwriting to date, reflecting on his experiences as a father.
The album boasts an impressive list of collaborators, including acclaimed musicians Jim “Moose” Brown (keys), Sam Bush (mandolin), Stuart Duncan (fiddle), and many more.
This new release comes amidst a whirlwind year for Combs. He recently released “Ain’t No Love in Oklahoma,” the lead single for the upcoming Twisters movie soundtrack (out July 19th). The song is also the subject of a new exhibit at the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum, Luke Combs: The Man I Am, opening July 11th. The exhibit promises a glimpse into Combs’ life and career through photographs, memorabilia, and instruments.
Combs is also partnering with Opry Entertainment Group to open a massive entertainment complex in Nashville later this summer.
A true country music powerhouse, Combs is a Grand Ole Opry member and boasts an impressive list of accolades, including 11 CMA Awards, 4 ACM Awards, and 6 Billboard Music Awards. Currently, he’s captivating audiences across the country with his record-breaking “Growin’ Up and Gettin’ Old” stadium tour. The tour includes sold-out, back-to-back shows in major cities like Los Angeles and East Rutherford. Critics have been raving about the tour, with The Arizona Republic praising Combs’ “distinctive voice that telegraphs emotion in a gritty rasp that makes the most of every lyric.”
Earlier this year, Combs delivered an unforgettable duet of “Fast Car” with Tracy Chapman at the Grammy Awards, a performance Rolling Stone hailed as “one of the all-time best collaborative performances in Grammy history.” “Fast Car” has been a juggernaut for Combs, winning Single of the Year at both the 2024 ACM Awards and the 2023 CMA Awards. It also dominated the charts, spending five weeks at #1 on Billboard’s Country Airplay chart and reaching #1 on the Hot AC chart (the first song by a male solo artist to achieve this feat).
With Fathers & Sons on the horizon and a thriving career, Luke Combs continues to solidify his position as a major force in country music.
