Nostalgic songs are always incredibly relatable. Even if the details don’t necessarily match our own experiences, we all have things that we wish we could revisit. Madison Station elicits this sentiment with their latest single “Back in the Day.”
The duo, comprised of Craig Anderson and Lance Horton, shared the details of the tune, as well as their future releases.
“Back in the Day”
Writing the Song
Hailing from a quaint southern town on the border of Tennessee and Alabama, Craig and his brother Todd decided to write about their lifestyle growing up.
The town consisted of one road down the middle and a couple of lights. “Back in the Day” depicts the freedom of being young and carefree, where the summers were full of adventure and possibilities.
The song gets into specifics, including sitting on a tailgate eating fast food and talking to girls. Navigating adolescence is something we’ve all had to do, which is why it resonates with a lot of people.
