A Blend of Humor and Vulnerability
Rhinestoned captures Antone’s playful humor, distinct raspy drawl, and undeniable charisma, making an immediate impact. However, a deeper listen reveals Antone’s underlying desire to heal her heart by opening up and extending support to those who need it. This blend of raucousness and vulnerability creates a raw and honest exploration of life’s ups and downs. As Antone explains, “No matter how big or small it is, when you’ve gone through something and you hurt, it matters.”
Creative Collaboration and Production
Rhinestoned was co-produced by Antone alongside Carrie K. (known for work with Noah Kahan, Jessie Murph, and Suki Waterhouse), and features writing contributions from a stellar lineup including Trent Dabbs (Ingrid Michaelson, Kacey Musgraves), Aaron Raitiere (Lady Gaga, Ashley McBryde), Jillian Jacqueline (Keith Urban, Little Big Town), and Antone’s longtime hero Natalie Hemby (The Highwomen, Miranda Lambert).
A Rising Star from Richmond, VA
Born and raised in Richmond, VA, Maggie Antone has quickly emerged as a bold new voice in alternative country. She first gained attention with her cover of Tyler Childers’ “Lady May,” and continued to build her reputation with Interpretations, a 2022 collection of covers including Dolly Parton’s “Jolene” and John Prine’s “Spanish Pipe Dream.”
Antone, who began songwriting at age 16, made music her full-time career after leaving college in late 2021. Her mission is to create music that resonates with people and to write songs that make audiences feel seen and heard—qualities she deeply admires in the artists who have inspired her journey.
