Three-time GRAMMY winner Miranda Lambert is giving fans another preview of her highly anticipated new album, Crisco, with the announcement that Ella Langley is featured on the project’s opening track, “Snakeskin Boots.”
The album is set for release Oct. 2 via MCA, while “Snakeskin Boots” will make its world premiere at Country radio on Oct. 2.

“Snakeskin Boots” brings together the two country artists for a cinematic, retro-Western track inspired by the dramatic sound and style of late-1960s Western films.
The song also draws from the attitude of Nancy Sinatra’s “Bang Bang,” pairing a stylized Western atmosphere with a larger-than-life story about a woman who knows exactly how to make her escape.
Lambert and co-producer Jesse Frasure drew inspiration from the era’s dramatic soundscapes, creating a song that could fit into a Quentin Tarantino film while also carrying enough energy to fill a dance floor at Studio 54.
The collaboration also reflects the creative relationship Lambert and Langley have developed over the past several years.
Lambert has played an influential role in Langley’s rapidly growing career as a mentor, co-writer and co-producer. Lambert co-produced Langley’s acclaimed Dandelion project and joined her as a duet partner on the album track “Butterfly Season.”
Lambert was also recently recognized with seven CMA Award nominations connected not only to her own artistry but also to her contributions to Langley’s project.
This week, “Choosin’ Texas,” which Lambert co-wrote and co-produced, made history by becoming the longest-running No. 1 song by any artist or song in the history of the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
Miranda Lambert on Working With Ella Langley
Lambert says she specifically had Langley in mind when she and her collaborators wrote “Snakeskin Boots.”
“We wrote ‘Snakeskin Boots’ with Ella in mind. She and I are kindred spirits, and when we were working on her album, I realized how many retro influences we share,” notes Lambert. “To me, this song is kind of Thelma and Louise if they didn’t drive off the cliff. It’s two badass women getting away with something, and she’s the perfect partner for that.”
The track sets the tone for an album that explores Lambert’s appreciation for country music history while putting her own spin on the sounds and influences that have shaped her.

Across 12 tracks, Crisco celebrates the different worlds that have long existed within country music while also nodding to the genre’s shared history with disco.
The album explores heartbreak and hope, highways and honky-tonks, rhinestones and roller skates. It brings together the different sides of Lambert that fans have come to know, including the storyteller, wanderer, romantic, troublemaker, traditionalist and dreamer.
