Country music powerhouse Miranda Lambert has been selected to receive the prestigious Country Icon Award at the upcoming 2024 “People’s Choice Country Awards.” The award celebrates Lambert’s remarkable impact on the industry, highlighting her two-decade career that has made her one of the most influential and authentic voices in country music.

A Night to Celebrate Miranda Lambert

The 2024 “People’s Choice Country Awards,” hosted by country legend Shania Twain, will be broadcast live on Thursday, Sept. 26, at 8 p.m. ET/PT on NBC and Peacock. The event will take place at the iconic Grand Ole Opry House in Nashville, with a special red carpet event, “Live From E!: People’s Choice Country Awards,” kicking off the evening at 6 p.m. ET/PT on E!.

A Trailblazer in Country Music

Lambert, a three-time Grammy Award winner, has been a defining force in country music for over 20 years. Known for her fiercely independent spirit and female-forward approach, she has crafted a brand that resonates with fans around the globe. “A tour de force in country music for more than 20 years, Miranda Lambert’s groundbreaking albums continue to capture the hearts of fans around the world,” said Jen Neal, Executive Vice President, Live Events and Specials at NBCUniversal Entertainment. “We’re so excited to celebrate her career, fierce individualism, and innovation in the industry with the Country Icon Award.”

A Storied Career

Lambert’s influence extends beyond music. She’s an Academy of Country Music Entertainer of the Year, a shelter animal advocate, restaurateur, businesswoman, and New York Times best-selling author. Her upcoming ninth solo studio album, “Postcards from Texas,” is set for release on Sept. 13, following the success of 2022’s “Palomino,” which was the largest female country album debut of the year and earned her a Grammy nomination.

With seven No. 1 solo albums and 10 No. 1 hit singles to her name, Lambert is the most-awarded artist in ACM history. TIME magazine named her among the world’s most influential people, and Pitchfork praised her for combining timelessness with timely activism. Her “Velvet Rodeo” residency in Las Vegas has been a massive hit, and she has collaborated with a wide range of artists across genres, from Leon Bridges to Loretta Lynn. Through her MuttNation Foundation, Lambert has also raised nearly $10 million to support rescue animals.

The People’s Choice Country Awards

The “People’s Choice Country Awards” honors the biggest names in country music, with winners chosen entirely by fans. Voting is currently open and will continue until Friday, Aug. 23, at 11:59 p.m. ET. Fans can cast their votes at www.votepcca.com.
