Nashville Community Comes Together for a Cause
On October 9, Nashville’s top executives, artists, and culinary talents gathered for the 5th annual ‘St. Jude Presents: Curated,’ a charitable event benefiting St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Held at the home of co-chairs Elizabeth and Bryan Frist for the second consecutive year, the event successfully raised over $1.8 million to support the hospital’s mission to treat and defeat childhood cancer.
An Evening of Joie de Vivre
Embracing a theme of “joie de vivre,” the evening featured performances by musical acts Lady A, ERNEST, and HARDY. The event’s message was brought to life by stories shared by St. Jude patient Thompson and his mother, reminding guests of the importance of hope and joy in the fight against childhood illness.
Culinary Delights: A Five-Course French-Inspired Menu
The night’s culinary experience featured a five-course meal designed by chefs Tiffani Ortiz and Andy Doubrava from The Catbird Seat, renowned for their innovative approach to fine dining. Guests enjoyed an array of French-inspired dishes accompanied by treats from high-profile donors such as Ladurée, Moët, and Hennessy, providing a touch of elegance to the charitable evening.
A Record-Breaking Live Auction
The event’s live auction alone raised more than $850,000, featuring exclusive packages such as a private Sunday Supper for 20 at The Catbird Seat, a vacation at Cassie and Charles Kelley’s Harbour Island residence, and a unique bourbon experience that included five barrels donated by Jeff Hopmayer.
Impact of Donations
The funds raised at ‘Curated’ will go towards St. Jude’s commitment to ensuring that families never have to pay for treatment, travel, housing, or food, allowing them to focus solely on their child’s health. Since opening more than 50 years ago, the hospital has helped increase the survival rate for childhood cancer from 20% to over 80%.
A Collaborative Effort
This year’s host committee included prominent figures such as Cassie and Charles Kelley, Amy and Kenneth Adams, Karen Fairchild and Jimi Westbrook, Kelli and Dave Haywood, Shawn Johnson East and Andrew East, and Delaney and Ernest Smith, showcasing a broad network of support from the Nashville community.
