From Solo Acts to a Duo on The Voice
Country music duo Pryor Baird and Kaleb Lee first came to national prominence during NBC’s reality singing competition The Voice. Both artists originally auditioned for the show as solo acts, but their story of how they joined forces is truly compelling.
Pryor explained that during audition week, “…nobody really knew each other because everyone arrived a week prior to the auditioning period. We all had individual rooms, but then I got a call from someone informing me that I was going to be moving into Kaleb’s room.”
However, Pryor was not ecstatic about the situation because he had heard from other artists on the show that having a roommate was not an enjoyable experience.
Pryor further explained that “I immediately wanted to leave the show because I didn’t want to have a roommate with somebody in a hotel room. But, Kaleb and I hit it off and instantly formed a bond.”
Kaleb added that The Voice was “…an incredible time. We got to perform on one of the coolest stages in the country in front of a nationally televised audience. In addition, we had the opportunity to learn so much from amazing coaches in such a short period of time.”
Pryor and Kaleb didn’t intentionally set out to become a duo. But being roommates and playing music together in their hotel room evolved into a strong friendship. Nowadays they love performing together in front of large crowds like the NASCAR Charlotte Motor Speedway in 2020.
The Tour
Pryor & Lee plan to tour for the first time in over a year since their incredible performance at the Daytona 500 in February 2020. The duo have five concerts planned for the next few months in Florida and Texas alongside country music legend Travis Tritt.
Pryor & Lee stated that “The tour is going to be huge. We both grew up Travis Tritt fans and we continue to be so to this day. So as one would imagine, we are beyond grateful to have this opportunity to share the stage with him. And I feel that our first concert this week will give us the first feeling of ‘normalcy’ in a while.”

‘Good Ol’ Dogs and God’ and ‘Carry On’
Some of the music Pryor & Lee plan to perform on the tour include their two latest singles ‘Good Ol’ Dogs and God’ and ‘Carry On’. Both singles, out on all music streaming platforms now, were released on March 26th, 2021. In addition, the country music duo released a lyric video for ‘Good Ol’ Dogs and God’.
Pryor states that “Good Ol’ Dogs and God’ is an extremely important song to us because we have three sister dogs ourselves. They love us and we love them. Similarly, dogs and God are the two things that are always happy to see you when you come home. And our relationship with them is at the top. Our dogs and God have helped us get through this dense pandemic.”
And although ‘Good Ol’ Dogs and God’ has garnered the most attention out of the two singles, Kaleb wants people to know that ‘Carry On’ is energetic and powerful as well.
Kaleb explains that “‘Carry On’ represents what we are going through right now. And that is that it’s time to move on and enjoy life.”
