Hereford, Texas native Randall King ignites a new sonic journey as he unveils his 18-track sophomore album, “Into The Neon,” available today.
“We are officially in the Neon era, baby. The TONK factor is on and set to 11!”
– Randall King
Drawing from the vibrant hues of neon that shaped his upbringing in the plains of West Texas and the glowing signs of the countless honky tonks he frequents each year, “Into The Neon” encapsulates King’s experiences and observations.
“This album represents a sound I’ve been honing in on for some time,” shares the West Texan. “Lyrically, it’s a little bit of everything, just like life: heartbreak songs, two-steppers, and love songs, all mostly true stories of life along the way.”
Co-produced by King and Jared Conrad, his second full album for Warner Music Nashville, “Into The Neon” blends influences from country icons like George Strait and Keith Whitley to the contemporary rhythms of Dierks Bentley and Gary Allan.
The album kicks off with the spirited “One Night Dance,” setting the stage for toe-tapping waltzes and yearning ballads like “When My Baby’s In Boots” and “I Could Be That Rain.”
With tracks equally suited for slow dances under the stars or two-stepping at honky tonks, King reveals a mature perspective in introspective songs like “Hang of Hangin’ On” and “I Don’t Whiskey Anymore.”
