For more than two decades, Randy Rogers Band has carried the sound of Texas country to fans across the nation. This year has been a creative one for the group, with new releases including the moving single Break Itself and a recent collaboration with Parker McCollum titled Is This Thing Workin’. Now, the band is gearing up to share their latest project, an EP called The Going, arriving October 24.

Title Track “The Going” Out Now

Alongside the announcement, the band released the EP’s title track, The Going, today. The song was written by Randy Rogers, Jedd Hughes, and Adam Wright, with Hughes also serving as producer. True to the tradition of classic Western road songs, the track offers open-road wisdom and storytelling with a timeless message: “it ain’t so much the getting to as much as it’s the goin’.”

Rogers reflected on the track’s creative direction, saying:

“The song ‘The Going’ is a musical sidestep in many ways for me. I’ve always loved story songs, and they are so hard to write. I hope you enjoy this ride as much as I did.”

Supporting Texas Through Music

Fans can catch Randy Rogers during the upcoming Band Together Texas Benefit Concert, hosted by Miranda Lambert and Parker McCollum. This livestream event is part of ongoing efforts to support recovery in the Texas Hill Country following recent flooding.

The concert will be streamed on Lambert and McCollum’s YouTube and Facebook pages, and it will also air on iHeartCountry this Sunday, August 17, at 7 p.m. CT.

A Lasting Influence in Red Dirt Country

Randy Rogers Band has long been a cornerstone of the Red Dirt country scene, a genre that blends Western lifestyle themes with the outlaw sound. Their impact has shaped a generation of artists, including Parker McCollum, Koe Wetzel, Flatland Cavalry, and William Beckmann.

Their 2004 album Rollercoaster is often regarded as one of the most influential in Texas country, opening doors to venues that once felt out of reach and solidifying their place in the genre. To celebrate its 20th anniversary this year, the band released a remastered and re-sequenced edition.

Now, with Break Itself and the upcoming The Going EP, Randy Rogers Band is delivering their first new music in two years while staying true to the Red Dirt roots that define their sound. For tour dates, music, and more information, visit RandyRogersBand.com.
