Seventeen-year-old Sarah Frei experienced a serious car accident last summer. She was riding with her friends when they were struck head-on by a drunk driver, resulting in paralysis from the waist down and a double amputation.
Despite what she’s endured, Sarah remained positive and still enjoyed dancing to her favorite song “Home Sweet” at the hospital. This caught Russell Dickerson’s attention and he even shared his support for Sarah on social media.
“To see the joy and to see the zeal for life still that she had doing this dance to my song “Home Sweet,” it just drew me in and captured me and I was in.”
-Russell Dickerson
One of the first things Sarah asked when she came out of surgery was whether she’d be able to drive again. When Dickerson heard this, he was inspired and wanted to do something to absolutely blow her mind.
He teamed up with Chevrolet to give her an accessible 2021 Chevy Traverse as a gift. Watch him surprise her in the heartwarming video below.
