Paramount+, the streaming service from ViacomCBS, and MTV Entertainment Studios just announced that country music’s golden couple Tim McGraw and Faith Hill will star with Sam Elliott in a prequel to the hit series “Yellowstone.”
Created by Taylor Sheridan, 1883 is the highly anticipated prequel to the Emmy® nominated “Yellowstone.” 101 Studios and Bosque Ranch Productions will serve as production partners on the series.
The show follows the Dutton family as they embark on a journey westward through America towards Montana, which is considered to be an untamed land. It is a stark retelling of Western Expansion and portrays what life was like for those who were fleeing poverty in search of better opportunities by traveling West during this time period.
Elliott will play the character of Shea Brennan, a tough and handsome cowboy with a sad past. He has to guide an entire group from Texas all the way to Montana–and he’s not alone in this endeavor. McGraw and Hill are portraying James and Margaret Dutton, the patriarch and matriarch of the Dutton family, respectively.. The rest of their family members have yet been announced for sure but it looks like they’ll be adding some more cowboys into this challenging journey across America!
