The Country Radio Broadcasters has announced Tracy Lawrence as the recipient of the 2023 CRS Artist Humanitarian Award and Brent Michaels as the recipient of the 2023 Tom Rivers Humanitarian Award. Both awards will be presented during the New Faces of Country Music® show on March 15, during CRS 2023 in Nashville.
Tracy Lawrence
Tracy Lawrence’s compassionate and generous nature made him a clear choice for the CRS 2023 Artist Humanitarian Award. He has shown a strong dedication to addressing homelessness through his “Mission: Possible” platform, raising over $2 million and providing funding to 14 organizations. His annual Turkey Fry and Benefit Concert, featuring top artists, has served 73,000 meals, and his Mission: Possible Celebrity Golf Classic raised $800,000 in its first two years with the help of country stars and professional golfers.
Brent Michaels
Radio personality Brent Michaels from KUZZ in Bakersfield, California has been chosen as the recipient of the 2023 Tom Rivers Humanitarian Award. He has made significant contributions to his community through his various charitable efforts, such as his Shoe Guy campaign for League of Dreams, his Man of the Year campaign for the Leukemia Lymphoma Society, and the launch of his “6615” apparel line, which has raised over $15,000. He is also actively involved in the Active Bakersfield Alliance and participates in marathon challenges to raise funds for the organization. Additionally, Michaels has been invited to bring his fundraising efforts for St. Jude to Los Angeles and his hometown of Honolulu.
Past recipients of the Artist Humanitarian Award have included Jason Aldean, Luke Bryan, Kenny Chesney, Blake Shelton, Dierks Bentley, Zac Brown, Lady Antebellum, Carrie Underwood, Rascal Flatts, Tim McGraw and Faith Hill, Trace Adkins, Randy Owen, Toby Keith, and Brad Paisley, among others.
