Tyler Booth, the Kentucky-raised viral country artist known for his deep, classically rich baritone, is back with a brand-new single, “Talkin’ White Trash.” Available now on all streaming platforms, the song paints a vivid picture of small-town life, where tailgate gatherings, back porch pickin’, and an unwavering pride in one’s roots take center stage. Infused with a swampy, bluegrass-inspired sound, Booth’s latest track is an unapologetic celebration of his Appalachian heritage.
Booth on the Meaning Behind the Song
“I wrote ‘Talkin’ White Trash’ about where I grew up and the people I grew up around—hardworking, God-fearing people,” Booth shares. “I’m hoping there’s still enough of those out there that understand the message and the sentiment of this song.”
A Return to Grassroots Country
“Talkin’ White Trash” serves as the first glimpse into Booth’s upcoming project, set for release this summer. The collection will showcase a stripped-down, organic sound, a return to his roots influenced by Kentucky legends such as Keith Whitley, Sturgill Simpson, Chris Stapleton, and Tyler Childers.
“I wanted to bring it back a bit more grassroots. Bring it back a bit more to where I began,” Booth explains. “There’s not a ton of production on this project—two songs are just me and a guitar. There’s some bluegrass, there’s mandolin, flat pickin’. I wanted to bring a bluegrass element, some blues, and a bit of rock.”
A Rising Star in Country Music
Booth has been steadily building a loyal fanbase with viral hits like “Palomino Princess,” “Already Got One,” and “Hank Crankin’ People.” With over 100 million collective streams and more than 1 million social media followers, his authentic sound and heartfelt storytelling continue to resonate with country fans.
Upcoming Release: Downtown EP
Booth’s highly anticipated new project, Downtown, is set to drop in June 2024. Leading the way, “Talkin’ White Trash” sets the tone for a collection that leans into Booth’s signature mix of traditional country, bluegrass, and Southern rock.
Having shared the stage with country powerhouses like Darius Rucker, Jon Pardi, Brooks & Dunn, Dwight Yoakam, and Jamey Johnson, Booth is proving he’s here to stay in the country music scene.
