Unleashing Emotion Through Music: Meet Aliyah Good

Aliyah Good has been singing her entire life, following in the footsteps of her parents, Grammy-nominated country artist Jamie O’Neal and veteran studio engineer Rodney Good. With a lifetime of experience performing on stages across the country, Good is no stranger to the world of country music. Her unique voice and heartfelt lyrics have garnered attention from fans and critics alike, and she is quickly making a name for herself in the industry. In this article, we will take a closer look at Aliyah Good’s career, her influences, and what’s in store for her in the future.

Good’s upbringing was surrounded by music as she grew up touring with her family and performing on stage from a young age. Her earliest memories are of performing with her family and feeling the excitement and joy of being cheered on by a crowd. This experience was a significant part of her childhood and undoubtedly shaped her love for performing and making music.

Since she was so young when she started performing, it was always ingrained in her that she wanted to pursue music professionally. Being around her mother’s music career, she always knew that it was what she wanted to do. Good would put on little concerts for her family and even started writing songs from a young age. Her passion for music never wavered, and she never took it for granted that she knew what she wanted to do.

“Human Background Noise”

Good’s latest single “Human Background Noise” is a heartfelt and relatable track that explores the complexities of modern relationships. Good draws on her personal experiences to craft a song about being caught in a “situationship,” a term used by today’s younger generation to describe a relationship that is not quite a relationship. The song is about the awkward commitment to someone that you know is not a forever thing, but you don’t want to let go because you don’t want to be alone or deal with the pain of breaking up. Good describes this person as “human background noise” – someone who is always there but not at the forefront of her life.

Good co-wrote the song with John Townsend and Lydia Doll, two of her favorite writers in Nashville. They helped her shape the concept of the song and gave it its name. The term “human background noise” perfectly captures the feeling of being stuck in a relationship that is not going anywhere. Good’s unique voice and heartfelt lyrics make this song relatable to anyone who has ever been in a similar situation. “Human Background Noise” is a beautiful addition to Good’s repertoire and a great example of her talent as a songwriter and performer.

Family Support

Good is fortunate to have a very supportive family when it comes to her music career. Not only do they support her passions, but they also have a wealth of knowledge about the industry, which has been incredibly helpful for Good. Her mother provides valuable guidance from her own experience in the business. Good’s grandfather, who is also a musician, has been a great source of knowledge for her as well. Having grown up touring with her family, Good has been able to rely on her loved ones not only for support but also for advice and guidance when it comes to her music career. This supportive environment has certainly played a significant role in Good’s success so far and will continue to be a valuable asset as she pursues her dreams.

“Ending of a First Love” Video

Good’s music video for “Ending of a first love” was a joint effort of everyone involved, including her friend Timothy and her mother, who co-directed the video. Initially, she had planned for the video to show the timeline of a relationship without revealing the love interest’s face to focus on her emotions during each stage of the relationship. However, Timothy expressed interest in being in the video, which led them to change directions. They discussed what they wanted to show in the video and how to portray the big breakup at the end. Her mom’s experience in the industry also helped with the creative direction.

When asked if she did anything to prepare for the acting portion of the video, Good said that she has taken acting lessons since she was a child and has done musicals and auditions, so she felt prepared to take it on. Nonetheless, she found it fun and challenging. Overall, the making of the video was a collaborative effort, with everyone contributing their ideas and expertise to bring her vision to life.
