Zac Brown New Heights Podcast

Fresh off announcing a new album and a groundbreaking residency at The Sphere in Las Vegas, Zac Brown made a guest appearance on the latest episode of New Heights with Jason and Travis Kelce.

The country music star opened up about everything from his creative process and wild life on tour to spearfishing, fatherhood, and why The Sphere is “the greatest canvas for creativity that’s ever been made.”

A New Era for Zac Brown Band

During the episode, Zac gave fans a preview of what’s ahead for the band, including new music and an immersive show he’s been building for over 14 months. The Sphere show, which he described as “like making a movie,” will feature four acres of video content and songs that include collaborations with artists like Dolly Parton and Snoop Dogg. And yes, it’s all self-funded.

“It’s the greatest canvas for creativity that’s ever been made,” Zac said of the high-tech venue, adding that Dolly “murdered it” in her contribution to the new project.

On Music, Family, and Staying Grounded

Zac also shared stories from his early days in music, including selling his life insurance policy to chase his dreams in Panama City, and how many of his original crew members are still with him after more than seven years on the road.

As a father of five, Zac didn’t hold back when talking about parenting either. “I’m their house bitch,” he joked, while Jason and Travis opened up about raising daughters and the chaos of large families.

The trio also bonded over their love of music, even harmonizing briefly, and Zac gave insight into the songwriting process, revealing that it took him 11 years to finish the band’s hit “Goodbye in Her Eyes.”

Beyond the Music

Outside of touring and recording, Zac revealed his passion for spearfishing and knifemaking, sharing that these hobbies help keep him grounded amidst a busy life. He also reflected on leadership within his band, saying, “You can’t buy culture and momentum. You gotta create it and lead it from the top.”
