Today, acclaimed country singer-songwriter Zach Top unveiled an exclusive Nashville Sessions EP on Apple Music featuring Grammy-winning artist Billy Strings. This three-track project includes fresh takes on Top’s originals, “Bad Luck” and “Things To Do,” along with a rendition of Ricky Skaggs’ classic, “Don’t Cheat In Our Home Town.” The EP, available in Spatial Audio on Apple Music, offers a unique blend of musical influences from two of country and bluegrass music’s fastest-rising artists.
A Musical Friendship Sparked at Under The Big Sky Festival
Zach Top and Billy Strings first crossed paths this summer at Montana’s Under The Big Sky Festival. During the event, Strings invited Top to join him on stage, and the two shared a memorable set that American Songwriter described as a “stellar performance.” Reflecting on the EP experience, Top said, “We had a lot of fun, traded back and forth some playing and whatnot. It’s so fun to watch him play. And I feel like he’s known so much for a player that it gets passed over sometimes how freaking good of a singer he is too.”
Additional Highlights: “Blue Christmas” and Apple Music’s Country Riser
Adding to his accomplishments, Top released a cover of Elvis Presley’s “Blue Christmas” today as part of Apple Music’s holiday playlist, Carols Covered. This release coincides with his selection as Apple Music’s Country Riser for November, solidifying his position as a country artist on the rise.
