Breakthrough singer-songwriter Zach Top has officially released Me & Billy, a three-song EP featuring two-time Grammy Award-winning artist Billy Strings. Previously available exclusively on Apple Music last fall, the EP is now streaming on all major platforms. The project includes reimagined versions of Top’s original songs, “Bad Luck” and “Things To Do,” along with a fresh take on Ricky Skaggs’ classic “Don’t Cheat In Our Home Town.”

Fans can stream the EP now and watch the new video for “Don’t Cheat In Our Home Town” online.

A Collaboration Built on Mutual Respect

Discussing his experience working with Strings, Top shared,

“We had a lot of fun, traded back and forth some playing and whatnot. It’s so fun to watch him play. And I feel like he’s known so much for a player that it gets passed over sometimes how freaking good of a singer he is too. It was so fun to get to sing with him and him kind enough to come in on a couple of my songs and sing a second verse, sing a little harmony, do that kind of thing. It was a blast.”

A Breakout Year for Zach Top

The release of Me & Billy follows a landmark year for Zach Top. Billboard recently hailed him as “the future of country music,” and he was nominated for New Artist of the Year at the 58th Annual CMA Awards. He also received the Discovery Artist of the Year award at the 2024 MusicRow Awards.

His debut album, Cold Beer & Country Music, released last spring, was met with critical acclaim. Produced by Carson Chamberlain (Billy Currington, Easton Corbin), the album racked up over 3.5 million streams in its first week. Outlets like The Tennessean and Country Central praised the album, with Country Central calling it “a masterclass in traditional country music.”

Adding to his growing success, Top’s Cold Beer & Country Music headline tour sold out within hours of tickets going on sale. The tour includes stops at Nashville’s legendary Ryman Auditorium (for two nights), New York’s Terminal 5, and Boston’s MGM Music Hall at Fenway.

Top is also joining country icons on the road, supporting Alan Jackson’s “Last Call Tour” and Dierks Bentley’s “Broken Branches Tour” beginning in May.

Zach Top’s Musical Journey

Born and raised in Sunnyside, WA, Zach Top was introduced to classic country music while growing up on his family’s farm. At just seven years old, he formed a band with his siblings, setting the foundation for his musical career. He spent his teenage years playing in various bluegrass bands before making the leap to Nashville in 2021. Since then, he has been carving out a name for himself as a standout traditional country artist.

Billy Strings: A Bluegrass Powerhouse

Billy Strings, originally from Michigan and now based in Nashville, has established himself as one of the most exciting artists in modern bluegrass and roots music. His latest album, Highway Prayers, released last fall via Reprise Records, debuted at #1 on Billboard’s all-genre Top Album Sales chart, marking the first time in 22 years a bluegrass album achieved this feat.

Acclaimed by publications like GQ and Pitchfork, Strings’ reputation continues to grow. He has received numerous accolades, including Best Bluegrass Album at the 67th Annual Grammy Awards, multiple Americana Music Awards, and Entertainer of the Year honors at the International Bluegrass Music Awards three years in a row.

Strings is known for his electrifying live performances, selling out venues worldwide, and will continue his extensive headline tour this spring with stops in Nashville, Denver, Asheville, Atlanta, and Lexington.
