Emmylou Harris to Perform at GRAMMY Hall of Fame Gala Honoring Iconic Recordings

Fourteen-time GRAMMY® winner and country music icon Emmylou Harris will headline an unforgettable night of music as part of the 2025 GRAMMY Hall Of Fame® Gala, taking place Friday, May 16 at The Beverly Hilton in Los Angeles. Hosted by the Recording Academy® and GRAMMY Museum®, this prestigious event will celebrate this year’s newly inducted recordings into the GRAMMY Hall of Fame.

Harris, whose own celebrated work is among the newly inducted recordings, will be joined by GRAMMY-winning producer Daniel Lanois and acclaimed jazz drummer Brian Blade for a rare on-stage collaboration. The trio will perform in tribute to this year’s honorees, alongside a diverse group of distinguished artists.

A Night of Cross-Genre Celebration

The performance lineup reflects a wide spectrum of musical genres. Joining Harris are:

  • Cindy Blackman, renowned jazz and rock drummer
  • Eddie Floyd, soul legend and original voice behind “Knock on Wood”
  • Jody Stephens, drummer of the influential power-pop band Big Star
  • Jon Batiste, GRAMMY-winning composer and bandleader
    Ledisi, GRAMMY-winning R&B and jazz vocalist
    Leslie Odom Jr., GRAMMY-winning actor and Broadway star
  • Orianthi, acclaimed guitarist known for her work with Michael Jackson and Alice Cooper

More performers are expected to be announced in the coming weeks. Each artist will perform a tribute to one of the recordings newly inducted into the Hall of Fame, which this year includes influential works by Emmylou Harris, Eddie Floyd, and Jody Stephens.

Honoring Visionaries: Ray Charles “Architect of Sound” Award

The evening will also mark the presentation of the inaugural Ray Charles “Architect of Sound” Award, launched in partnership with The Ray Charles Foundation. The first recipient is Jon Batiste, who will also perform during the Gala. The award honors artists whose innovation mirrors the creative legacy of Ray Charles.

Behind the Scenes

Returning as host for the event is Anthony Mason, veteran CBS News journalist. The Gala will be produced by longtime GRAMMY Awards® Executive Producer Ken Ehrlich, alongside Ron Basile, Lindsay Saunders Carl, and Lynne Sheridan. Musical direction will be led by GRAMMY and Latin GRAMMY® winner Cheche Alara.
